Mouridism a fate already set, "said a columnist. The appointment of the Murid community in Dakar on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the great cultural and religious complex estimated at nearly 18 billion CFA certainly falls in this upward trend that every day reveals the face of Mouridism.
This Saturday, December 5, 2009 will remain etched in the annals of the Senegalese capital. In fact, the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Great Mosque Mouride has been the site of convergence of all that Dakar has as religious authorities (all congregations), customary authorities, political and administrative.

The family Seyyidina Issa Laye family Ndiassane etc. Bassirou Serigne Diagne Grand Serigne of Dakar and the whole community Lebu in Dakar, were all present.

Every Murid religious family also made the trip to attend this important ceremony. The President of the Senegalese Republic, Mr Abdoulaye Wade on the spot before a large delegation of ministers honored the appointment with his presence .

The Mourid community in Dakar flocked to answer the call of Mbackiyou Faye, the representative of the General Caliph of the Mourids in Dakar. Previously, the site has been properly installed in the galleries, great shelter for guests and a powerful sound system, all under the leadership of Hizb ut Tarqiyyah whose conservatory graced the assistance of a good performance.

The organizing committee very soon proceeded on foot to the orientation of the guests. A moving monster, a crowd came mobilized and disciplined response to the appeal by the representative of the General Caliph of the Mourids namely Mbakiyou Faye.

It was about the 12 noon as the Caliph arrived on the scene accompanied by the President of the Republic who has made a detour to the residence of Serigne Touba Colobane to join him. He was greeted at the entrance by a large delegation including the Presidents of the Senate of the National Assembly and the Economic and Social Council.

The President of the Republic accompanied by the caliph following the presentation of the architect who returned to the dimensions of the project whose design was enhanced with the cooperation of two Moroccan architects. 1 hectare is increased to 5 ha 800. This space also will include a mosque, an institute and a residence Cheikhoul Khadim. The site faces the opening quarter port city on the Avenue Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba equidistance neighborhoods Bopp, HLM,  and prove its central position.

Serigne Mbacke Mountakha be the first to speak on behalf of the General Caliph of the Mourid to thank the President for the gesture while ensuring the satisfaction of the caliph.
